To reduce the environmental impact of the textile and clothing industry, the TexMaTer project will use alternative biomass sources, such as agricultural residues and micro- and macroalgal biomass, as well as post-consumer home textiles. These materials will serve as potential sources of cellulose and functional ingredients for the development of innovative sustainable fibres and new bioformulations for textile finishing processes.
